April 30, 2009
Dear Bellevue Country Day School Parents
We are keeping apprised of the current Swine Flu health concerns.
If you would like to find out current updates about Swine flu in our
area, go to
http://www.kingcounty.gov/healthservices/health/preparedness/pandemicflu/swineflu.aspx
for up to date information. You can
also sign up to receive e-mail updates from Public Health.
The Center for Disease Control has developed a very informative Web page on
swine flu. For information, go to
http://www.cdc.gov/swineflu/.
Bellevue Country Day School
regularly emphasizes disease prevention techniques such as washing hands
frequently and covering the mouth and nose during a cough or sneeze. Parents
may want to remind their children of the following:
Should your child become ill with flu-like symptoms, contact your health
care provider and keep them home from school.
If your child is unwell (cold or flu) his or her resistance to other
viruses and infections is compromised.
Please keep them home to protect your child and others.
We will be observing
a
no-tolerance sick
policy
at this time. If your child
shows any flu or cold symptoms, we will send them home.
Please use “magic soap” or take your child to wash their hands as they come
into the classroom.
In the event that a student at our school is diagnosed with a probable or
confirmed case of swine flu, the school will close as recommended by the
public health services. Parents will
be notified immediately.
